Getting to know Zac and Camille was such a treat. I met Camille when I was trying on dresses at Rent Frock Repeat for the Ottawa wedding awards last year. We chit chatted a bit about photography and she let me know she was getting married the following year. Did I give her my card? I can’t remember, but it was several months later when she contacted me and asked me to be her wedding photographer.
I was thrilled that we connected and she kept me in the back of her mind. Camille has such a warm, sweet personality so easy to get along with. When I met Zac at our first meeting, he was tall and funny and pretty charismatic. Zac was definitely into the wedding planning aspect and had a very good idea of how the day should be run. This may have had something to do with his project managerial skills and I loved that the groom to be was just as involved as the bride.
We had a great time photographing the engagement session at Carleton University, where both Camille and Zac were once students. The weather was a bit tricky, so we stayed mostly indoors and I got to see how fun and laid back these two were together.
On the big day, the ceremony was held at St. Brigid’s center for the arts, which is soooo gorgeous inside. Very opulent. Camille joined her parents halfway down the aisle and they both escorted her to her groom to be. She looked stunning wearing her aunts traditional Fillipino wedding gown which she wore to be wed in 30 years ago!
After the ceremony and photos we headed off to the reception at the Canada aviation and space museum. Zac’s dream was to be a pilot, but due to particular allergies, it never came to be. However never giving up and being the intelligent individual he is, fostered a career in aerospace engineering, so the museum was absolutely the most fitting place for them to celebrate.
There were many heartfelt speeches and funny moments and when I left, Zac was cutting up the dance floor with his grandmother. Camille and Zac took off to their honeymoon in the Canadian rockies and I hope you guys had the best time!
Thank you for letting be a part of your big day. All the best in your future.
Not sure what the story behind this is, but I was informed that the bride and her bff often make this “serious face” in photos.
