Lifestyle wedding photography in Ottawa by Stacey Stewart | Gorgeous wedding at Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm

Forgive me for the late posting of this beautiful August wedding. It’s hard to believe we are mid September already, it’s been such a busy season!

I had been anticipating this wedding all year, not only did it fall on the most popular wedding date of 2018, (18,08,18) but the bride Amy, had been planning this wedding her whole life. Before she was even able to fathom having a boyfriend, Amy had been dreaming about her wedding day since she was a little girl. She played dress up, imagining she was a princess and what it would be like to marry her prince charming.

Fast forward to many years later to when she finally did meet him. Amy and Jon had more than one chance encounter. Their second encounter found them skating on the Rideau canal, chatting and laughing all evening long. The following morning, they ran into each other unexpectedly again, and this time, Jon finally asked for Amy’s number. The rest as they say, is history.

The pair were married at Parkway Road Pentecostal Church, and their dinner and reception were held at Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm, a favourite venue of mine. It turned out, as many days were this summer, hot, beautiful and sunny. Amy and Jon were thinking of their guests comfort when they hired Stella Luna Gelato to be part of the catering at cocktail hour. (I had the strawberry prosecco flavour, and it did not disappoint).

Stanley’s had recently done some renovations in and outside of Maple Hall, and Jon and Amy were the first wedding couple to be introduced to it. I loved the stunning landscaping with the huge boulder wall and fire pit, beautiful gardens and the bright interior of the hall. It made my job as a photographer very easy.

After a delicious meal, games and speeches, Jon and Amy ventured outdoors for their first dance and Celebratory fireworks. It was a wee bit magical. As always, I had a great time at Stanley’s and so did the guests, it was such a gorgeous wedding.

Jon and Amy a couple days later jetted of to Jamaica for their honeymoon, and now they are patiently waiting for their wedding photos.
