Kristina and Graham came to me in a roundabout way. Back at the beginning of the year I took part in a wedding show hosted at Stanley’s olde Maple Lane Farm. I spoke with quite a few couples, but I also spoke with parents of a bride in waiting. You see, the bride and groom to be are living up in the NorthWest Territories and could not attend themselves.
These two souls are trying to plan their wedding here in the Ottawa area from way up north! They put their trust in their family to do some of the leg work for them and the consequences of those actions were in my favour.
What are they doing up there anyway you ask (I asked!) Both Kristina and Graham are biologists which are studying migratory patterns of birds and other habits of birds in the area. How cool is that? Well I think it’s cool anyway. I was always a fan of biology, animals and science and still am, but my artistic side prevailed.
Luckily, they were able to come down in early May to have their engagement session done with me and man alive, it was perfect. We were going to head over to Jack Pine trail, where the birds are abundant and eat from your hand, but because all of the rain we had, the thought of trudging through the mud was not very appealing. Instead we headed over to the arboretum in Ottawa, just as the magnolia blooms had surfaced.
These two had so much natural, fun chemistry it made my head spin. I honestly just had to point the camera and shoot, because every interaction was genuine and filled with laughter and love. Their wedding is going to be epic (and bird themed lol) I am really looking forward to this union in September.
Right now they are off doing fieldwork for the next month, so enjoy yourselves out there and say hi to the birds for me!
As we were strolling through the park, Graham bumped into an old friend taking his pup for a walk.
Apparently this is one of their infamous bird watching moves.
I see you.
OMG that ring!
