24 Year Engagement!
My first wedding of the year was actually a last minute affair. An old colleague of mine gave me a call just before the end of end of April, to see if I was available for a Friday night civil ceremony at city hall. Indeed I was and that is when I heard the story about her mom and step dad who had been together for 24 years, but never managed to tie the knot. I am not sure what prompted the decision, but it had been a long time coming.
Lots of Laughs
Patrick and Karen decided it was best just to go ahead and do it without telling anyone, that way nobody was left out of the loop because well, everyone was! Karen’s daughter and daughter’s boyfriend were the witnesses and after the ceremony they celebrated by going out for dinner at Sterling Restaurant in Gatineau.
We had a lot of laughs while snapping pics, Karen and Patrick were totally natural together and looked so in love. Kristina, (Karen’s daughter), wanted to give her the gift of photography for the wedding and I absolutely believe no matter how small the affair, you should have some great photos and memories to share, especially when your friends and family are not there to see it.
I wish you both another 24 years together and beyond, thank you for letting me share in your special day.
What a gorgeous group!
A little pre-ceremony hair touch up.
Not sure what I said here….but I got “the look.”
Sealing the deal.
Ok, now it’s official.
Hee hee, there’s no escape now!
Since I wasn’t invited to the after party, I told them they had to show me their best dance moves.
Karen and Patrick’s gorgeous rings!
Pat told me this was his ideal pose.
