On February 1st I had the honour and pleasure of being the official photographer for With this ring bridal showcase held at the Carelton golf and yacht club. The show was co-ordinated by Julia Fachnie-O’Grady from In the moment Event planning and Breanna Deveau from Floral Reef designs. This was the first year for a show of it’s kind in Manotick, but I doubt it will be the last. There was wall to wall talent from newer up and coming vendors, as well as some of the big players in the wedding industry. One of the big draws to the show was Ottawa’s own Handmade bride, who sponsored the fashion show with their unique and creative wedding dress designs. Many of the dresses had almost a whimsical boho feel to them, light and airy and a welcome change from the traditional wedding frocks. If I was getting married again (and I am not), the Handmade bride would be my first stop.
AMAZING VENDORS
After my shooting duties came to an end, I managed to mingle a bit with some of the vendors and check out their booths. I sampled some delicious cupcakes from Kupcake the owner and baker Kyle, also informed me they have a guest house and venue called Tranquil Acres just outside of Ottawa. I also got to try some cake from Tanya Mercer of Sugar House Cakes. I am no stranger to Tanya and her delectible treats, I pretty much hijacked her left over cupcakes from the show and brought them home to my family. They didn’t last long!
There were plenty of other impressive booths and vendors too. Ink Blossom had the most beautiful papers and invitations I have seen yet and I was impressed by The Carelton Golf and Yacht club itself, providing delicious canapes and other yummy treats for everyone attending the show to snack on. They were made in-house by the venues own chefs and bakers.
There were plenty of professionals to choose from, all of which you could tell put a lot of thought and effort into their booths and showcased their products and talents beautifully. This was pretty much one stop shopping and every aspect of your wedding was covered. It was beautifully organized and I hope to be a part of it again next year either as the photographer or a vendor myself.
Did you miss it, or would just like a re-cap of all the talented vendors from the show? Just check out the links below to find your favorite vendors.
