On August 2nd, 2014, two wonderful people were joined in holy matrimony at the Best Western Hotel, North Bay, Ontario. Tammy and Mike have been together 15 years, give or take and have two beautiful little girls together. The only thing missing from their happy relationship were those darn wedding vows. Mike finally popped the question and got it done!
This wedding was special for me because I grew up with Tammy. I have known her since kindergarten and even though our lives have drifted apart over the years, you always seem to retain a bond with those people you have spent your early years with. I was really happy that she wanted to include me in her day. The icing on the cake too, was that my BFF, Lori agreed to help assist me for the day and she also grew up with Tammy, so it was a bit of a reunion for all of us.
The Best Western North Bay, is directly across the street from Lake Nippising. I grew up just outside of North Bay and don’t go back to visit often. I had forgotten how beautiful this enormous lake was. We had the opportunity to do some shots on the beach, until we were chased away by a party pooping home owner living next to the beach who thought all of the shoreline belonged to her. Who kicks wedding couples off the beach? Anyway, we had a great time regardless and were able to get some memorable shots.
Tammy and Mike only wanted those people closest to them involved in their day. They each had one person standing in for them, the maid of honor and best man and of course their girls. The ceremony and the reception were held in one of the ball rooms at the hotel. After the ceremony the first dances began. This was super emotional as Tammy’s dad recorded a song for them to dance to. Tammy and her dad even did the as Oprah puts it. the “ugly cry.” It was so far from ugly though as it was filled with true emotion and it was a beautiful moment to capture.
Once that was over the party ensued and as you can see by the photos, everyone had a great time.
Thank you again Tammy and Mike for letting me share in your day and I wish you a long and happy marriage.
