This folks, was my first boudoir session and hers. You wouldn’t know it though from the fabulous energy she gave me throughout the entire photoshoot. Initially she had some reservations about doing it, but it was something she had on her bucket list.
Shay got married last year and their anniversary was coming up. She wanted to do something special to surprise her hubby….surprise indeed! What husband wouldn’t be overjoyed to get a gift like this?
She told me she had wished she had done this before the wedding and had gave it to him on the big day (I think he would have been sweating under the collar just a bit if he had previewed these before walking down the aisle) but a one year anniversary gift was the next best thing. We threw on her veil and some sexy white lingere to do a few bridal boudoir shots and bring back some memories of their wedding day.
Bridal boudoir seems to be all the rage these days. Many women are booking photographers to capture their sexy side so they can gift it to their husbands on their wedding day. And why not? When we are preparing for our wedding, it is usually the time we decide to get in shape and want to look our best. Getting a few sexy shots of ourselves in our prime is a great way let us look back on all the hard work we put in to look fab in that wedding dress.
I know throughout my entire life I was always complaining about my body. Yes, complaining about my body in my twenties and my thirties and now that I am approaching 40 and have had two children I wonder why I got so down on my self image. I look back on old photos and think, damn, I looked good why did I waste my time worrying about my appearance? I guess that is only the wisdom that aging can give you, but I am slowly coming to terms with gettin older and it’s not so bad. We are always our own worst critcs.
I have to say I love shooting boudoir. Lets face it women are marvelous creatures and we should celebrate our bodies for what they are. We both had a great time doing this shoot and I hope to be able to many more in the future.
