Engagement

Having an engagement session done before your wedding day is an invaluable experience. It lets you both get to know me a little better before we hang out for an entire day on one of the most important days of your life (yup, I’ll be your shadow). But it also allows you to see how I shoot, what expectations may be and how you will act in front of the camera. We can practice posing, making you feel comfortable and most important of all have fun together. Many people are really intimidated by the camera, but I can assure you when you finish with me, you will feel like you’ve been rocking Vogue vibes your whole life.

Engagement shoots are complimentary if you book me for 8 hours or more on your wedding day
If you want to book an engagement shoot on its own, or with less than 8 hours of wedding coverage, the cost is $300 (You will receive all of your favourite photos from the session! )

Some important things to remember:

Location, Location, Location

Choose a place where you and your significant other feel comfortable. Maybe somewhere you went on a first date, a place you like hanging out together or a place that means something to you. If you do this, your photos will be more meaningful to you and you will feel good in your surroundings.

Comfortable Clothes

Choose to wear clothes that make you feel good, but you are also comfortable in. Try not to be twinning too much, just compliment each other. Also, try not to dress completely monochrome or wear shirts with big bold printing across the front it just doesn’t look good in photos.

Ladies, I know you love those sassy high heels (who doesn’t) but if you are going to be strolling around the streets or flouncing through a field, wear sensible shoes! Bring the sexy ones with you and we can get some shots of you in them, but you don’t need to walk around in them… ouch!

Accessorize

A great chunky necklace, a hat, or a scarf can go a long way to add that extra punch to your photos. Try wearing something that compliments his style and the outfit you are wearing. Don’t load up on accessories though, you can have too much of a good thing!

Props

While I usually don’t go out of my way to set up an elaborate scene full of backdrops, sparkles and cupcakes, a few props added to your session can be just the thing to add something special. I recommend something like a picnic basket and some champagne, fishing rods for going down to the dock, or just something special that represents the two of you or the location we are heading to.

Arrive on time or a little early
We don’t want you getting to your location late. We will often shoot during the golden hour (when the sun is setting) and it goes by pretty quick. We want to make sure you are bathed in all that golden light and we maximize our time together.

Keep these things in mind so you can rock out your engagement session and share it in your customized guest book at your wedding.
