There are many different styles of boudoir photography. Dark, sultry, raunchy, classy, bridal, playful, themed and the list goes on. I was hired by a former bride to photograph a bright, fun yet classy boudoir session so she could gift it to her hubby for their first year anniversary. Paper is the year one gift for anniversaries, so it was a perfect choice. I got an email from her yesterday saying that he loved it! Yay.
Kim and James were one of the most fun filled couples I photographed last year. Nothing phased them, they were constantly laughing and you could tell they just enjoy life. Kim wanted to extend that personality into her shoot. She loves to read, cats, her hubby is into cars and they both love to have fun. We brought all these elements into the shoot so it really highlighted her personality.
She admitted she was stepping out of her comfort zone, but let’s face it, how many of us are comfortable stripping off and posing for the camera? Maybe some of you behind closed doors, but not many of us want an acquaintance snapping half naked photos of us. By the end of session, she was completely comfortable and we were laughing it up with the bubbly champagne. (I can’t let my clients drink alone!)
Once the hair and make-up gets done and the sexy skivvies are on, those simple changes alone transform you into someone else. Add a photographer that does not judge and likes to have fun too, and you have a fun-filled girls afternoon on your hands. Thank you Kim for being brave and allowing me to publish some pics from your session! Give the gift of feeling confident and beautiful to yourself or someone you love, no regrets.
