Spring Wedding Décor at Ottawa’s Brookstreet Hotel

If you haven’t heard of Posh Affairs, you soon will. They are an up and coming Party/Wedding and event design team specializing in modern, personalized decor. I got to hang out with Lisa and Jamie this past weekend at Ottawa’s Brookstreet hotel where they were knee deep in gorgeous spring wedding decor.

Lisa and Jamie are sisters and started their business a year and a half ago. They both fell in love with the idea after planning Lisa’s own wedding. It was exremely satisfying and they wanted to be able to help other people get as much out of their wedding day as they did. To them it is a labour of love and although it can take a lot of time, effort, co-ordination, blood, sweat and tears, the pay off they get from designing a one of a kind wedding is well worth it.

Lisa says: ” All of our weddings, events and functions are tailored to each Client. We never do the same thing twice and all of our decor and designs are one of a kind.” “We love adding personal touches to all of our designs and working one on one with the people that hire us.”

From what I can tell this was absolutely true. When I walked into the ballroom at the Brookstreet hotel, Lisa and Jamie were busy putting the final details on a vineyard themed wedding. I was delighted to see that it was a same sex wedding and the brides to be were a modern couple that have a penchant for fine wine. This was the theme through out and the brides wanted purples and mauves as their accents. Jamie and Lisa did a wonderful job of personalizing the details. Crystal, orchids and tulips were the main center pieces and they really wanted the room and tables to glow. Candles were everywhere adding romance and ambience. Once the lights were turned down, the lighting throughout had a purple hue with white uplighting at the head table. It was truely stunning!

What makes them Special:

Jamie and Lisa have very up-beat personalities. They both love to travel and shop, are crazy about make-up and Jewlery and they each have a dog or two…or was it three? Anyway they are absolutely down to earth and fun, but at the same time are quite the perfectionists. Apparently this can be a blessing and a curse (as I know all too well).

They want everyone to know that they do more than just co-ordinate beautiful decor for weddings, they can also help you with the planning process too. They can assist with anything from the day of co-ordination, to full wedding planning. They also cater to Parties, birthdays, wedding and baby showers, bachelorette parties and just about any special event you can think of. Jamie told me they even decked out a dog’s birthday. It’s not unheard of apparently (except for maybe those of us who own cats).

If you are looking for help with an up coming wedding or event, give these sisters a call, and they will be more than happy to provide you with their expertise.

You can contact Jamie or Lisa at 613-298-1998 or you can find them on Facebook at  https://www.facebook.com/PoshAffairsOttawa .  They will be releasing their fancy new website soon!
